It’s been a long time since Nintendo systems received proper third party support the way PlayStation and Xbox do, with all the major multiplatform releases launching on their systems, and even though the Switch is looking like a success story for Nintendo, Ubisoft aren’t planning on extending that support for the Assassin’s Creed franchise just yet. If you were wondering whether the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Origins will be launching on the Switch at anytime in the future, chances are it won’t.

We recently conducted an interview with Ashraf Ismail, who is serving as the game director on Assassin’s Creed Origins, and we asked him if the development team had a potential Switch version in the works, one that might launch somwhere down the line. However, the answer that we got was quite concrete. Ismail told us that the game would be out for the Xbox One, PS4, their upgraded variants and PC, and that that was all.

“We’re shipping on Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PC,” Ismail told us. “There are no plans to release it on Switch.” So that’s pretty conclusive. No plans. Our full interview with Ismail will be going up on the website soon, so stay tuned to GamingBolt.
